Governance

Governance exists to ensure durability, not to create complexity.

Open UGC & Beyond treats governance as a supporting system, not a speculative surface.

Design Goal​

The goal of governance here is simple:

  • Protect long-term neutrality
  • Prevent unilateral capture
  • Allow evolution without instability

Governance is intentionally conservative. Most decisions are encoded in protocol design rather than votes.

What Governance Covers​

  • Upgrade authority
  • Public-goods commitments
  • Long-term protocol stewardship

What it does not cover:

  • Day-to-day platform rules
  • Marketplace policies
  • Community moderation

Those remain application-level concerns.
